Coastal Carolina University is a dynamic, public comprehensive liberal arts institution located in Conway, just minutes from the resort area of Myrtle Beach, S.C. The main campus is accessible from U.S. 501 and S.C. 544.
The University offers 65 areas of study toward the baccalaureate degree and seven master's degree programs in accountancy, business administration, education, marine and wetland studies, and writing.
The University comprises 72 main buildings on 630 acres including the Coastal Science Center and the Burroughs & Chapin Center for Marine and Wetland Studies, located on the East Campus in the Atlantic Center on U.S. 501, and The General James Hackler Golf Course at Coastal Carolina University, a public 18-hole golf facility located adjacent to the campus. A 1,062-acre tract on Waties Island provides a natural laboratory for extensive study in marine science and wetlands biology on an Atlantic coast barrier island.

There are several options for entering the main campus of Coastal Carolina University:
- Motorists traveling from Conway or the Surfside Beach area should enter the University from S.C. 544 at University Boulevard near Brooks Stadium.
- Motorists traveling from Myrtle Beach on U.S. 501 should turn left on University Boulevard. To reach the East campus/Atlantic Center, turn right on University Boulevard across from the main campus.
- Motorists traveling from Conway on U.S. 501 should turn right at University Boulevard. To reach the East campus/Atlantic Center, turn left on University Boulevard, across from the entrance to the main campus.
From the north:
Travel I-95 South into South Carolina. Follow I-95 to Exit 181. Turn left onto SC Hwy. 38. Follow Hwy. 38 to the intersection of US Hwy. 501. Turn right onto Hwy. 501 and proceed to Conway/Myrtle Beach. Continue on Hwy. 501 through Conway and Coastal Carolina University will be on the right. Turn right onto University Blvd. at the stoplight with the flashing CCU marquee sign. Follow the signs to Admissions.
From the south:
Travel I-95 North. Take Exit 170. Follow SC Hwy. 327 to the intersection with SC Hwy. 576. Turn left onto Hwy. 576 and follow toward Conway/Myrtle Beach. Hwy. 576 will merge with Hwy. 501. Follow Hwy. 501 through Conway and Coastal Carolina University will be on the right. Turn right onto University Blvd. at the stoplight with the flashing CCU marquee sign. Follow the signs to Admissions.
From Columbia, SC:
Take I-20 to I-95. Go north on I-95. Take Exit 170. Follow SC Hwy. 327 to the intersection with SC Hwy. 576. Turn left onto Hwy. 576 and follow toward Conway/Myrtle Beach. Hwy. 576 will merge with Hwy. 501. Follow Hwy. 501 through Conway and Coastal Carolina University will be on the right. Turn right onto University Blvd. at the stoplight with the flashing CCU marquee sign. Follow the signs to Admissions.
