Visit Coastal Carolina University
Coastal Carolina University is a dynamic, public comprehensive liberal arts institution located in Conway, just minutes from the resort area of Myrtle Beach, S.C. The main campus is accessible from U.S. 501 and S.C. 544 (see directions below).
The University offers 67 areas of study toward the baccalaureate degree, and nine master's degree programs in accountancy, business administration, education, liberal studies, marine and wetland studies, sport management, and writing, plus the Educational Specialist in Educational Leadership program. The University's first doctoral program – the Ph.D. in Marine Science: Coastal and Marine Systems Science – began in Fall 2014.
The University comprises 102 main buildings on 620 acres including the Coastal Science Center and the Burroughs & Chapin Center for Marine and Wetland Studies, located on the East Campus in the Atlantic Center on U.S. 501, and the General James Hackler Golf Course at Coastal Carolina University, a public 18-hole golf facility located adjacent to the campus. A 1,105-acre tract, including a portion of Waties Island, provides a natural laboratory for extensive study in marine science and wetlands biology on an Atlantic coast barrier island. Myrtle Beach International Airport is located in Myrtle Beach approximately 15 miles from Coastal Carolina University. The following airlines provide service to Myrtle Beach: Allegiant, Delta, Porter, Spirit, United and U.S. Airways. Car rentals and taxis are available at the airport. Traffic to and from the airport to the campus may be heavy, especially during the summer.
