Academics & Programs
The Spadoni College of Education provides opportunities for future and current educators to explore learning and teaching. Our high quality programs prepare educators to be reflective practioners, knowledgeable instructors, users of technology, and decision-makers for life and work in a global society. We have 5 undergraduate programs available that lead to initial licensure (PreK- 12), 2 graduate programs (with more under development for 2010), as well as non-degree coursework for continuing education.
All programs in the School of Teacher Education are approved by the South Carolina Department of Education, and accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). Additionally, our subject/content areas are officially recognized by specialized professional associations (SPAs).
Our academic offerings emphasize hands-on learning, extensive field experiences, and engaging classroom instruction with dynamic faculty who are experts in their fields. The School's conceptual framework, The Teacher as Reflective Practitioner, acts as the shared vision unifying the design and implementation of all programs.
