Biography

Adam Pelty is a nationally recognized director and choreographer best known for creating the original choreography for The Scarlet Pimpernel on Broadway. He recently won the IRNE (Independent Reviewers of New England) award for his choreography in Billy Elliot - the Musical at the historic Ogunquit Playhouse in Maine. He has since directed and/or choreographed four additional productions nationally of the hit Musical. Direction and/or choreography for CCU: Little Women, How To Succeed… 1940s Radio Hour, and A Chorus Line. Broadway, as an actor: Cyrano - The Musical, Steel Pier, A Christmas Carol, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, The Scarlet Pimpernel, and Titanic. Regionally, as director/choreographer (selected): Syncopation for Merrimack Rep in Lowell, MA; Five Course Love for Capital Rep in Albany, NY; Tick, Tick, Boom for Porchlight in Chicago, IL. Regionally, as actor (recent selected): Spamalot, as Lancelot and Robin; A Christmas Story on tour, as Santa; The Drowsy Chaperone, as Aldolpho.

Mr. Pelty has been on the faculties of Interlochen Center for the Arts, Ithaca College and NYU. He is the founder of Moveable Arts, a Broadway education company, and was the founding creative director for Summer Stars in Rochester, NY.
