Admission Number
Located on the upper left hand corner of the Form I-94 is the admission number. This 11-digit number serves as an identification number for foreign aliens with Customs & Border Protection and the Department of Homeland Security. Every time you depart the U.S., you surrender your I-94 so your departure may be recorded (except for those on multiple entry I-94s which allow multiple entries/departures on the same I-94). Subsequently, each time you enter the United States, you receive a new I-94 with a different admission number.
Immigration regulations require that your school keep a record of this number. Do not confuse your admission number with your Coastal student ID number or your Social Security Number (if applicable). The admission number on your I-94 is only used for immigration purposes.
