I wasn't sure this was the place for me at first, but once I got to campus and met new friends and started classes with great professors, I realized it was the perfect place for me. Now I love CCU!
		Grace Burleson Classification: Junior Hometown: Myrtle Beach, SC Major: Middle Level Education Why CCU?: I wanted to stay close to home, and I liked the friendly atmosphere on campus. I had also heard many glowing recommendations of the education degree programs, so I knew CCU would be a great place to prepare for my future in education.
		Sarah Craig Classification: Junior Hometown: Hampton, NJ Major: Marine Science Why CCU?: I chose CCU for their marine science program. I liked how the program was very hands on and how the University owns its own island. I wanted to move away from home but still feel like I fit. I like how Coastal has a nice balance between in-state and out-of-state students. I like the smaller class sizes and the overall feel of the university. I knew when I set foot on campus I belonged.
		Briana Dinkins Classification: Freshman Hometown: Sumter, SC Major: Psychology Why CCU?: I had a terrific tour guide when I first visited the campus. I loved the beautiful campus and the friendly people. The tour had such an impact on me - I knew Coastal Carolina was the right place for me.
		Matt Farrell Classification: Junior Hometown: Windsor, SC Major: Exercise & Sport Science Why CCU?: Coastal Carolina University became my first pick when I saw its Exercise and Sport Science program. The faculty are all very helpful and know every student by name. That's a huge advantage for a college to have.

The fact that Coastal owned its own island just showed me that there are many opportunities for research. As for the campus, I like to see the flowers and trees in full bloom. Coastal is small enough for intimacy but big enough for diversity.
		Robert Harris Classification: Junior Hometown: Rock Hill, SC Major: Communication Why CCU?: I chose CCU for the opportunities it offers students. Coastal Carolina offers the opportunities of a large school, but has the friendly feel of a smaller university.
		Dylan Lamb Classification: Sophomore Hometown: Taylors, SC Major: Marketing Why CCU?: Out of all the schools I visited, Coastal was the best fit for me because of the size and location. When I took my tour, I felt comfortable and everyone was very welcoming! Go Chants!

It's a small campus, but it's large enough to offer the same opportunities as larger schools. CCU is just the right distance from home. I have some independence here, but I'm only four hours away from home.
		Sharetta McBride Classification: Freshman Hometown: Warwick, NY Major: Communication Why CCU?: I came to CCU for my degree program. I loved the welcoming atmosphere I found at CCU. I feel at home even though I'm far away from my hometown.

CCU is the perfect place to grow and make a name for yourself.

Through diving, I found an interest and appreciation for the ocean. I chose Coastal Carolina University for the Marine Science program, which is one of the largest and most accredited on the east coast.

We always drove by the campus on family vacations. As soon as I toured the campus, I knew CCU was the place I would call home for the next four years.
