Coastal
Carolina University has a rolling admissions policy. This means that applications
will be accepted as long as space is available. Students should, however,
apply early in order to meet all scholarship and financial aid deadlines.
Students typically receive notification of their admission status within
three weeks.
Freshman admission is based on the following:
Completion of a core curriculum of 20 units:
4 units of English
3 units of math (Algebra I, Geometry and Algebra II)
3 units of laboratory science (2 units from different fields)
2 units of the same foreign language
3 units of social studies (one unit must be U.S. History)
1 unit of PE or ROTC
4 units of academic electives
GPA in these core subjects.
SAT or ACT scores. If a student tests more than once,
the best score is considered.
Other relevant information such as extracurricular
activities, community service, etc.
Additional materials are not required but will be
reviewed by the Admissions Committee.

Transfer admission to Coastal

Have a minimum cumulative collegiate GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale
with at least 24 transferable credits to be on a 4.0 scale with at

Be in good academic standing at the last institution attended.
If the applicant has less than 24 transferable credits, his/her
high school academic record and SAT or ACT scores will also be considered.
Upon acceptance, a list of the credits that are accepted by Coastal
Carolina for transfer credit will be forwarded to the student.
