Coastal
Carolina University is committed to providing financial assistance and
scholarships to eligible students. Last year, more than 66 percent of
Coastal students received financial aid and scholarships totaling approximately
$55 million.
A student must apply for financial aid each year by completing the Free
Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA application is
available on the Web at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
Coastal begins mailing award letters to enrolling students in March. It
is important to remember that a student must file early to be considered
for the best possible financial aid package.
Coastal
offers financial assistance to eligible students from the following sources:
Federal Pell Grants, Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grants,
South Carolina Need-Based Grants, Federal College Work-Study, South Carolina
Teachers Loan, Federal Perkins Loan, Federal Family Education Loan Program,
Federal PLUS Loan and more. Full-time status is necessary to be considered
for some aid programs.
Eligibility for financial aid depends on each
student's financial circumstances. Most students
are eligible for loans even if they do not qualify
for financial need-based grant assistance.
