AFFINITY GROUPS

An Affinity Group is a group of people who share a common interest, background, or goal. Coastal Carolina University Alumni Association and its affinity groups all share in the common interest of building Alumni relationships and bringing together former students who attended the University. Our overall goal is to strengthen the base of Coastal Carolina University’s Alumni community. Coastal African American Professionals (CAP) was founded in 1997 and officially accepted by Coastal Carolina University (CCU) Alumni Association on October 6, 2004 as one its special interest groups. CAP’s main purpose is to focus on bringing together African American alumni of CCU and was founded with hope to help these former students reconnect with the university through a series of programs, events and activities. CAP will also ensure that Coastal Carolina University is promoted as an institution for students to receive a quality education, engage in dynamic co-curricular activities, and develop a network of friendships to last a lifetime.

The Eta Pi Alumni Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity was founded November 14, 1999 by a group of dedicated alumni of the Eta Pi Chapter at Coastal Carolina University. The Alumni Chapter exists to build on the brotherhood between the brothers and to help assist the students Chapter.

The Zeta Chi Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority was founded in April 2005 by a group of dedicated alumnae of the Zeta Chi Chapter at Coastal Carolina University. The Alumnae Chapter exists to provide a lifelong sorority experience for women.

Coastal alumni who successfully complete the T.E.A.L. Senior Seminar become members of the T.E.A.L. Affinity Group, as a group of people who share a common interest, background, or goal. The mission of the senior seminar is to support the transition of students to positions of leadership in their work and life roles. The T.E.A.L. Affinity Group will provide these alumni leaders with a peer support group with whom to network, consult, continue professional development and collaborate in support of the University.
