Center for Archaeology and Anthropology

Coastal Carolina University’s Center for Archaeology and Anthropology fosters interdisciplinary research and inquiry into the lives and lifeways of modern and prehistoric people. Focused on the Lowcountry of South Carolina and its unique heritage, the center’s work also incorporates a global perspective and provides opportunities to participate in discovery. Building on the invaluable archaeological studies of former professor James L. Michie, the Center serves as an institutional home for the research and outreach activities of anthropologists and archaeologists at Coastal Carolina University.
