"A well-designed curriculum in art education provides a vehicle for students to attain a more complete understanding of themselves and the world in which they live. Pursuing an integrated pedagogy, which provides relative and substantive historical, geographical, social, philosophical, and scientific content within the study of the visual arts is essential."

Larry Bunch has demonstrated a strong commitment to visual arts education for more than thirty years. He has worked with all levels of students from kindergarten to the graduate school level. In addition to his role as a full time art educator in Catoosa County, Georgia, Dr. Bunch has served in a variety of other teaching and leadership roles. He was adjunct faculty at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, the Lead Visual Arts specialist for the Louisiana Institute for Education in the Arts, acting Interim Director of Visual Arts for the Southeast Center for Education in the Arts, member of the Georgia Visual Arts Standards committee, and since 2006 served in a leadership role at the Beth Kellerhals Center for Visual Arts Education, which he helped create. Dr. Bunch has also developed and implemented successful Visual Arts Summer Camps for children ages 6-11.
The recipient of a range of teaching awards and honors, Dr. Bunch was most recently recognized by the Woodruff Center in Atlanta as part of the Woodruff Salutes program, an award that recognizes leaders in arts education throughout the State of Georgia.

Two of Dr. Bunch's specific areas of interest include the development of standards-based visual arts curriculum materials and assessment strategies for the visual arts classroom.
