about the building
The Visual Art department is located in the Thomas W. and Robin W. Edwards Humanities Building, completed in 2001, along with the Departments of English, History, Philosophy & Religion, Politics & Geography, and Performing Arts. The Edwards Humanities Building, the single largest building on campus, houses 57 classrooms, art studio space, a recital hall, a “black box” theater, and faculty offices.
The building features the Rebecca Randall Bryan Art Gallery located on a central courtyard. Sculpture classes are taught in the Atlantic Center Academic Village located near the campus. The Department of Visual Arts maintains studio spaces for art education, art history, ceramics, drawing, graphic design, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and two- and three-dimensional design. Each studio is equipped with an array of equipment to carry out instruction and artistic work.
