Daryl Fazio joined Coastal's Visual Art faculty in the Fall of 2006, after 5 years as an assistant professor in visual communications at Truman State University. Prior to joining academia, she spent several years in the corporate sector as a graphic/web designer for various companies.

Daryl attended Northwestern University for a bachelor's degree in Theatre where she concentrated on acting and design for the stage. This background played a large thematic part in her work on her MFA at The University of Memphis. And she continues to be interested in graphic design for the theatre.

She designs web sites and print media for freelance clients around the world and considers website architecture to be her primary area of research. Additional interests include poster design for the theatre, typography, and playwriting—she had her Off-Off-Broadway debut in 2005 (http://www.darylsplays.com) and currently collaborates on musicals with Theatre prof, Aaron McAllister.
