The Education component of this website is designed to provide teachers with complete lesson plans which can be downloaded and utilized in the classroom. The lesson plans are written primarily for secondary education. However, many can easily be adapted for various other grade levels. The lesson plans below encourage guided and independent research of the Ashes2Art website culminating in an appropriate art production lesson based on the National Standards for Visual Arts. Each lesson plan includes standards-based objectives, worksheets, instructions, and assessments. Although the standards used in each lesson are for visual arts, strong interdisciplinary connections exist between art history, global history, and language arts. This provides an opportunity for each lesson to be adapted to suit the requirements and standards for disciplines other than visual arts.
