Before being admitted to the program, students must submit an application in which they explain their specific academic and professional goals and a proposed integrated course of study. In consultation with the program director, students will select courses (at the 300-400 level) from at least three fields or disciplines relevant to a coherent and unified area of concentration. (This area of concentration cannot replicate any existing major or minor.)

Applications are reviewed by the program director and the Interdisciplinary Studies Faculty Review Committee once each semester. The application deadline for admission into the Program for the Fall semester is March 1; the application deadline for admission into the Program for the Spring semester (or Summer terms) is October 1 and December 1.
