CHANTS Community Outreach Program

Coastal Helping And Nurturing Together for Success

The purpose of the CHANTS Community Outreach Program is to provide Coastal Carolina University student-athletes with a well-rounded educational experience. The program seeks to develop the whole student-sthlete academically, athletically and personally. The CHANTS Community Outreach Program supports the philosophy that student-athletes gain "leadership through service." The program is designed to enhance the quality of the student-athlete overall experience through community-based service that highlights how the student-athlete is a leader and a role model in the commun9ity as well as on campus.

An important part of one's life is selfless service to the community and this commitment proveides student-athletes an opportunity to begin now and develop lifelong commitment to volunteerism. The program assists to show how student-athlete's time is valuable and the impact of that time on others is immeasurable. The program hopes to develop future philanthropist, civically engaged citizens, role models to the youth within the community and just a better human being. The activities range from reading to local schols, motivational speaking, hosting sports clinics andmentoring younger children.

CCU athletes and coaches go out to the schools and speak to students about setting goals and aspirations. If you are an athlete and are interested in becoming one of the CROW program speakers, please contact your coach or the The Biddle Center at 843.349.2665.

 

Run, Leap and Jump with the CHANTS

The Run, Leap and Jump with the CHANTS program is an after-school program to promote healthy life skills, fitness, goal setting and overall personal and academic success while teaching elementary school students track and field skills and techniques. The program is designed to match Coastal Carolina University track and field and cross country athletes with elementary school students in an enriched athletic experience within an area after-school program.
