A Message from the Dean

It is my pleasure to extend greetings to you as the dean of the E. Craig Wall Sr. College of Business Administration. The Wall College is an institution that is respected throughout the region for its superb record in training students for a wide range of successful business careers. As dean, I look forward to working with students and faculty to achieve new levels of excellence in a number of areas.
During my interview for the dean's position, I made reference to the book Good to Great, by Jim Collins, and the applicability of its message to the work ahead of us. The book focuses on the concept of “reflective thinking,” which entails directing our strengths in a way that will allow us to achieve "sustained greatness." As a college, we must consider our abilities and direct our resources toward the fullest possible realization of those abilities. This will require us to remain open to change and new directions as we respond to changes in the business environment. We will go forward with strategic objectives, ever mindful of our competition and our mission.
As business educators, it is essential that we instill in our students the desire and need to continue growing, learning and developing. Thus, while we focus on our undergraduate programs, we will also work to build on our growing graduate program.
To quote from the Wall College mission statement, we will strive to "educate each of our students to have the qualities and attributes essential to his/her progressive and continuing development" throughout their careers.
