Careers With A Cause This all day event on April 16 encourages students to explore careers and organizations dedicated to addressing important causes and issues and making a positive impact in the world. From 11am-2pm information will be made available on Prince Lawn about various careers, agencies and organizations that make a difference in the lives of others through a non-profit structure, charitable giving, a missions model or purpose driven cause.
From 7- 9 pm in 309 Wall there will be a documentary and discussion on Starting Something that Matters. For Tomorrow, The TOMS Shoes Story documents Blake Mycoskie and his family, friends and TOMS staff on an emotional journey to the remote villages of Argentina where they hand placed 10,000 matched pairs of shoes on the feet of children in need. This TOMS documentary will be followed by a special talk by Dr. Mark Mitchell about being “Someone that Matters”. A panel of community leaders who have “started something that matters” within their own fields will share their stories and inspirations to close out the event.
