Beta Gamma Sigma Speaker Series
Each semester Beta Gamma Sigma, the Business Honor Society, hosts a variety of guest speakers in the local area and other business leaders. The speakers share their personal stories, provide career advice, and share valuable business insights. These sessions also provide a great opportunity to interact and network with fellow students, faculty, and business professionals. The speaker schedules are listed below.
Merrill Boyce, Chief Executive in Residence and Global Business Coordinator, discusses the job search and interview strategies.
This PDA consists of a panel of business executives at various stages in their professional careers. Specific topics of the session include: • An short bio of each panelists and an overview of their career path and highlights • Advice on how to get hired/what employers are looking for today • How to get that first foot in the door/that first start • How to move up the ladder • Most important career step/decision • Most important quality for “success” in the workplace • Q&A from audience. The panelists are Tom Birmingham, a TechCXO Partner leading the human capital practice. He is an innovative human capital management “thought leader” and trusted adviser to technology executives.
Dick Drass – graduated West Point with an engineering degree. He has 35 years of diverse industry experience and is beginning his eighth year of teaching.
Steve Sisney – earned his M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School . His experience includes serving as president of Cooper Indutries’ Crouse-Hinds Division as well as president of Cooper’s Tool & Hardware Group
