Position Description: |
Program Assistant in Washington, DC area.
Support a network of 15-20 volunteer member leaders to strengthen the capacity of AAUW girl-serving Science, Technology and Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) grants and program. Essential duties include supporting existing team of volunteer member leaders, including holding regular conference calls with regional coordinators and partner organizations. Recruit new member leaders as needed. Prepare substantive materials and administrative forms for member leaders. Track project spending and assist with financial reporting to the National Science Foundation. Monitor and document regional activities and prepare reports to members and funders on activities. Write and edit annual report, proposals, professional correspondence and other written materials related to the project. Communicate regularly with partner organizations on project, maintain webpage, and make presentations on project. Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Learning Skills: |
Minimum 3-5 years experience with STEM and/or community organizing. Familiarity with equity issues in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) is important. Masters degree is preferred. Degree in STEM field preferred. Excellent communication skills and an outgoing personality is essential
