Wall Center for Excellence Seminar Curriculum

Class size is limited to 30 students in each seminar.

Behavioral Interviewing Skills
In this seminar, you will learn techniques of successfully getting through a behavioral employment interview. You will learn how to answer interview questions with succinct examples of how you have responded to certain work situations in the past and you will learn to utilize a model of how to successfully answer the tough questions. This type of interview has become prevalent among many of the mid to large size companies today in a variety of industries, as it provides a better way for interviewers to assess your skills and your fit in their organization.

Pre-requisite: None


Wall Center Resume Workshop
With many people applying for each open position in businesses today, you need an edge. In this brief session, you will learn the way to get corporate recruiters to look at your resume, how to get your resume past the new Applicant Tracking Software systems that many companies are using (and why they are using them), and how to identify the true components of a good, scannable resume. After the initial interactive presentation segment, depending on time remaining, you will have the opportunity for one-on-one coaching with the instructor on your particular resume, or will be able to make an individual coaching appointment for another time.

Pre-requisite: Having your current version of your resume on file with the Wall Center. If you have not yet written a resume, or have no idea how to write one, call the Wall Center at 349-4187 and the staff will help you to create one.


Time Management Skills
"Time flies" "Time is money" "Time marches on" Time can be an ally or an enemy. Used properly, it can make a person efficient and productive. Used improperly, it can cause a person great problems. Every day a person is given 24 hours. How it is used is up to that person. Learn how to beomce in control of your time so that you are more productive and efficient.

Pre-requisite: Find the time to register for this workshop.


Presenting for Results
This seminar will give students a brief overview of how to organize your presentations for best results, how to deliver them to best get your points across successfully,as well as how to handle questions, objections and troublesome participants during your presentation.

Pre-requisite: None


Job Searching utilizing the Internet
Job hunting is a skill. This seminar will teach you effective internet tools that can assist you in finding a job in the area where you want to live.

Pre-requisite: None


Find an internship using the internet
Internships can give you the opportunity to work with your potential career field and gain real experience. However, finding an internship in the career field and the geographic location that you want can be hard. This seminar will show you some internet sites and searches that can assist you in reaching your goal.

Pre-requisite: Attend behavioral interviewing seminar and must have an approved Wall College of Business resume on file with the Wall Center for Excellence.

Free seminars in Entrepreneurship that will give you the knowledge you need to take your ideas over the hurdles to success. Taking Your Ideas to the Next Step and How to Create Your Business Plan

Do you really know how to use Power Point?
As part of the interviewing process, employers expect candidates to present themselves usin Power Point. Most upper level classes require Power Point presentations. Come and learn advanced techniques that will propel your presentations.

Pre-requisite: None.
