Organizational mission or general goals: Mercy Hospice and Palliative Care, the area's oldest non-profit hospice, guides our patients and their families toward a profound sense of healing and peace - healing of the mind, heart and relationships, as well as understanding of life's purpose and meaning. Our compassionate, dedicated and experienced staff are here to support families and their loved ones in making tough decisions when faced with life-limiting illnesses.
Mercy Care (formerly, Mercy Hospice and Palliative Care) is the area's oldest hospice and the only non-profit hospice residing in Horry County. We seek to guide our patients and their families toward a profound sense of healing and peace-healing of the mind, heart and relationships, as well as understanding of life's purpose and meaning. Our compassionate, dedicated and experienced staff are here to support families and their loved ones in making tough decisions when faced with life threatening or limiting illness. Mercy's Vision is to provide our communities with the experience that every day is a gift. Mercy's Mission is to comfort the body and heal the heart through competent care which focuses on supporting and nurturing the human spirit and preventing and relieving suffering - one person, one family, and one community at a time. In addition to our end-of-life services, we offer a full spectrum of community health and wellness programs, most of which are free to the public. * Treasures of the Heart resale boutique in Conway.
Primary clientele served: Mercy Care has been serving those affected by life-limiting illnesses in Horry, Georgetown and Marion Counties for almost 30 years. Mercy is not only committed to serving the patient in their time of need, but also their family, friends and other loved ones. Our services are available to any member of our community who is in need, regardless of ability to pay.
Employees and/or volunteers: We have 54 full-time staff members; 9 part-time staff members and over 50 volunteers.
Staff members eligible for professional credentialing and credentialed staff members employed: We have over 40 credentialed staff members including registered nurses, nurse practioners, physicians, social workers and counselors.

Special services or pricing for senior citizens: Medicare, Medicaid, VA benefits, private insurance.
Comments: Mercy is a registered, 501(c)3 non-profit organization and relies heavily on donations to continue it's missions. We are committed to excellence in donor stewardship.
