Organizational mission or general goals: The American Red Cross, a humanitarion organization led by volunteers and guided by its congressional charter and fundamental principles of the International Red Cross Movement, will provide relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.
Primary services provided: Prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies; military messaging; provide training in First Aid and CPR; lifeguard training; swimming lessons. (No charge for emergency services; fees charged for Health and Safety certifications.)
Primary clientele served: All ages.
Employees and/or volunteers: 6 full time; hundreds of volunteers help with office assistance, disaster assistance, health and safety training and military messaging.

Clients/patients/participants served each year: Number varies depending on number of local emergencies each year.

Comments: The Coastal South Carolina Chapter of the American Red Cross is a United Way Community Partner, serving Horry, Georgetown and Williamsburg counties. Headquartered in Myrtle Beach at 2795 Pampas Drive, the chapter also has a fully staffed service center in Georgetown at 537 Lafayette Circle.
