Organizational mission or general goals: Regency Hospice is a community based organization dedicated to providing clinical excellence, emotional support and spiritual well being while offering outstanding care through a dedicated staff of professionals and trained volunteers who specialize in meeting the individualized needs of terminally ill patients and their families. We are committed to providing the highest quality hospice services and believe the patient is entitled to live his or her remaining days in a comfortable and compassionate environment.
Primary services provided: Each patient is assigned an interdisciplinary team of caregivers dedicated to helping them and their families share quality time together in the warmth, comfort and privacy of their own homes, in nursing or assisted living facilities, or in the hospital. This team consists of the patient's physician, the Hospice Medical Director, RN Case Managers who are also on call 24/7, Social Workers, Chaplains, Nursing Assistants, Dietician, Bereavment Counselors and volunteers. Other services include pain management, pharmacy needs, medical equipment and supplies, therapies(PT, OT and ST), education and grief counseling, both individual and group in the community.
Primary clientele served: Patients and families who are seeking supportive and palliative care, rather than curative, who have a life limiting illness certified by physicians.
Employees and/or volunteers: Approximately 30 staff and 20 plus volunteers which changes to meet the needs of our patients and families.
Staff members eligible for professional credentialing and credentialed staff members employed: All appropriate staff are licensed and/or certified by their appropriate boards. All staff are required to complete orientation which includes ELNEC (End of Life Nursing Education Consortium) and Regency Healthcare University online training. Volunteers complete at least 16 hours of training plus annual training. All staff and volunteers must pass ALL background checks.
Clients/patients/participants served each year: Over 500.
Organization accredited or certified by an outside agency or association: Licensed by the State of South Carolina and certified by Medicare and Medicaid.
Special services or pricing for senior citizens: Special programs for our patients and families include our flower ministry and effleurage. Regardless of payment, all clients are accepted into our homecare program. Medicare pays 100% for eligible hospice services.
