Internships

All students, regardless of their field of study, are encouraged to participate in at least one internship during their enrollment at Coastal Carolina University. Students can work as interns during their fall, spring, or summer semesters if their schedules permit. Some of the major benefits include: 1) better preparation for future career, 2) application of classroom learning and demonstrated professional work skills, 3) affirmation and clarification of major and career choice, 4) creation of a more competitive job candidate.

Internships at Coastal Carolina University are quite varied in scope and requirements.  Some departments/majors require that an internship be taken within the context of a course.  Other programs define an internship as an “experience outside of, or in addition to, courses.”  A few programs at Coastal Carolina University have organized internship programs completely at the program level.  An example of such a program is the Wall Fellows Program.  In such instances students seeking that internship are expected to work within specific guidelines designed only for Wall Fellows.
