Dear Friends and Colleagues:

Welcome to our Southern Division CBDNA/NBA Conference Website. This conference is sure to be an exciting and rewarding event for all. Rob Rumbelow and his colleagues at Columbus State have helped us assemble what will be a most engaging week as we celebrate our art and craft.

We are looking forward to performances from our CBDNA colleagues who have been selected to perform at this convention:

  • Florida Atlantic University, Kyle Prescott, conductor;
    Georgia Tech, Andrea Strauss, conductor;
    Liberty University, Stephen Kerr, conductor;
    Middle Tennessee State University, Reed Thomas, conductor;
    Northern Kentucky University, Brant Karrick, conductor.
The Austin Peay State University Band under their director, Gregory Wolynec, will present our “Chosen Gems” session.

Our NBA colleagues who have been selected to perform are:

  • Cobb Wind Symphony, Alfred Watkins, conductor;
  • DeLand High School, Ted Shistle, conductor;
  • Niceville High School, Daniel Wooten, conductor;
  • Satellite High School, Mark Nelson, conductor;
  • Sebastian River High School, Eric Allen, conductor;
  • Tara Winds, David Gregory, conductor;
  • Taravella High School, Neil Jenkins, conductor.

They will join our host, the Columbus State University Wind Ensemble, conducted by Rob Rumbelow, and the Southern Division Intercollegiate Band, conducted by Michigan State University’s Kevin Sedatole, for presenting memorable performances. We are very thankful to these accomplished conductors and their wonderful students for sharing their talents with us this week.

It is a pleasure for me to invite you to spend the week with us in Columbus, GA as guests of Columbus State. We have world-class concert venues for our performances and have organized great sessions to fire your imagination and re-kindle your zeal for our beloved professionI
