Cassidy's Video

As a Coastal Carolina cheerleader, Cassidy Brown visibly and enthusiastically supports the different Chanticleer teams. However, this support does not stop with just the athletic program. Rather, for Cassidy, it covers the entire University.

A sophomore marketing student from Columbia, S.C., Cassidy is a fun and energetic individual who loves CCU.  Amazed at the growth of Coastal along with its dedicated faculty, Cassidy says she is “so happy” she chose Coastal. So happy in fact that she won’t hesitate to break out in a CCU cheer on the middle of Prince Lawn with everyone watching (see her video for evidence).

Although you can immediately sense confidence in Cassidy, she also is very realistic. Her end goal is to hold a high level position doing what she loves to do, but she understands that it will take some work. In a way, she relishes the opportunity, saying in her own words that “you have to start from the bottom and work our way up.”

It is easy to cheer for someone so humble and aware. Coastal Carolina is excited to continue to watch Cassidy over the next two and a half years and help provide her the necessary tools to make her ascension up the career ladder a smooth one.

Q&A with Cassidy

How did you hear about Coastal?: My high school coach used to cheer for Coastal Carolina. Her association with the University is how I learned about it.

Why did you come to Coastal?: I came to Coastal because of the location, I love the beach! I believe there is no better way to get an amazing education than at the beach!

Favorite professor: Professor Audino is my favorite professor, he is a really great teacher and I can tell he really cares about how we do in his class and also in the future.

Favorite class:  I do not have a favorite class because I enjoy many different aspects in each class.

Favorite aspect of Coastal?: I love that I am able to walk to almost every class in under 10 minutes. I can also easily get to know my professors because most of my classes have around 30 people in them.

Favorite aspect of living in the Conway/Myrtle Beach area?: Living in the Conway/ Myrtle Beach area makes me feel like I am on vacation 24/7. I am 15 minutes from the beach but I can also go visit downtown Conway which is about five minutes away. There are so many cute boutiques and I also found my favorite restaurant there, Rivertown Bistro.

Clubs/Intramurals/other extracurricular activities involved in?:  I am part of the Coastal Carolina Cheer team.

Do you work anywhere currently (either on or off campus)?: I am a leasing consultant at an apartment community when I go home for holidays and summer break.

Plans after graduation?:  Of course the goal of everyone is to make lots of money after graduation but many times you have to start from the bottom and work your way up. After graduation I just want to be given an opportunity where I am able to eventually move up in my job position and love what I do.

What are your hobbies?: My favorite hobbies are hanging out with family and friends. I also love eating…that’s probably not a very good hobby.

Do you have any hidden talents?: I would not really consider it a talent but I can make my  tongue touch my nose.

Bonus Info: I am so happy I have chosen Coastal Carolina and I look forward to making more amazing memories here.
