The idea of a Flipped Classroom (Inverted Classroom) is a new and exciting technique in education. In this technique students can attain and learn course content outside of the classroom in an online environment and then use this knowledge to participate in discussions, activities, and projects conducted in the physical classroom. This session will introduce the idea of a Flipped Classroom and facilitate conversion about how this can be applied to your course.
Objectives:
After completing this session, faculty will be able to:
• Identify and explain the Flipped Classroom concept
• Discuss pros and cons to the Flipped Classroom
• Identify ways in which the Flipped Classroom concept can be applied to their own course
• Identify technologies to support the Flipped Classroom
