ONLINE COURSE FOR FACULTY: Course Design for Distance Learning/What to do the First Week of Class
In this session we will discuss the importance of good course design in a distance learning class. A matrix
will be presented to assist with the incorporation of student learning outcomes, activities, assessments
and technology needs. Issues of copyright in distance learning will be addressed. The second part of
this session will help instructors decide what to do during the first week of a distance learning course
and reduce the development time prior to the start of the course. We will help you think through the
nuts and bolts of what you, as the instructor, need to best prepare your students to be successful in a
distance learning environment.
