This is a workshop to help faculty develop a course that is either going to be taught soon or go through Academic Affairs. We will use an instructional design model to develop the syllabus, clarify the goals and student learning outcomes (SLOs) and align them with Bloom’s-Revised. We will discuss assessments (e.g., exams, projects) and assist faculty with ideas for assessment based on the SLOs. Instructional strategies will be shared. This is a three hour workshop to allow faculty time to write and develop a syllabus for one course. Faculty should bring either a syllabus that they currently have for a course or an idea for developing a syllabus.
•Develop a syllabus
•Clarify course goals
•Refine their syllabus based on CCU requirements
•Develop assessment tools that align with Bloom’s Revised and their Student Learning Outcomes.
