CMWS Alumni Homecoming Weekend
This year mark’s the Burroughs and Chapin Center for Marine and Wetland Studies 20th Year Anniversary. To commemorate this milestone the Center’s Board of Visitors and a core group of Alums are organizing our first CMWS Alumni Homecoming Weekend to bring together many of the large number of students and staff who have worked through the Center over the years. This is the same weekend as the overall CCU Homecoming so there will be lots of campus wide events going on as well.
The CMWS events are:
- Friday, October 24, 2008 2-5 pm Alum reception at the Center to meet with present day students and staff and tour the present facilities. If you would like to provide any digital photos and text about what you did when you where here and what you do now we would like to expand our “Where are they Now” loop.
- Saturday, October 25, 2008 2:00-6:30pm CMWS Alum Tailgate and 7 pm CCU Football Game (against Stony Brook University)
- Sunday, October 26, 2008 9am-12pm: Waties Island tour and access for alums and families.
If you missed CCU Football when you were here you really NEED to comeback and experience it now. This is an opportunity to set a high standard for tailgating on campus and enjoy a CCU football game with friends and colleagues.
Recognize alum and staff accomplishments including a special tribute to Neal Gielstra who is retiring this year.
We have secured a block of tickets for the Coastal Carolina – Stony Brook University football game on Saturday Oct 25 at a group rate of $8/ticket. If you plan to attend homecoming please let us know what events you plan to participate in and if you would like football tickets with the group please e-mail Julie Quinn at jquinn@coastal.edu identifying how many tickets you want and send a check payable to the Coastal Education Foundation c/o Julie Quinn, Burroughs and Chapin Center for Marine and Wetland Studies, 1270 Atlantic Avenue, Conway, SC 29526 by September 15th, 2008.
