Baby with the Bathwater to be performed at CCU

November 1, 2005

A student production of Christopher Durangs satirical comedy, Baby with the Bathwater, will open Nov. 9 and run through Nov. 13 at Coastal Carolina University. It is free and open to the public.

Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, with a 3 p.m. matinee on Sunday. The show is being staged in the Black Box Theater of the Thomas W. and Robin W. Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts.

Baby with the Bathwater is a dark comedy about the difficulties and uncertainties of parenting, as well as the fearfulness of infancy and childhood. The play is written in an absurdist, playful style and, for all its dark topic, ends on a hopeful note.

Directed by Kris Raus, the play will run about an hour and a half long. Cast members include Coastal students Chaz Fries, Marcie Willis, Krystin Mementowski, Alexandra Mooney, Danielle Paese, Scott Dean, Kristina Clifford, Emily Miller, Lizz Moring, Marie Moreshead and Lauren Wall. Krystal Brooks is stage manager.

The production is sponsored by the Office of Student Activities and Leadership. Call 349-2301 for more information.
