COASTAL TO OBSERVE MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. DAY

January 4, 2001

Martin Luther King Jr. Day will be observed at Coastal Carolina University on Friday, Jan. 12 which will kick off Coastals annual African-American Celebration, featuring a variety of events which examine the art, history, music and cultural achievement of African- Americans.

The public is invited to help form a Peace Circle at 12:30 p.m. in front of the Edward M. Singleton Building on Coastals campus. Guest speakers include David Woodley, president of Coastals Student Government Association, and Hodari Williams, president of Coastals student chapter of the NAACP. The Coastal Carolina University Gospel Choir, under the direction of Brian Burroughs, will perform.
