Lifelong Learning catalogs for fall classes now available

August 14, 2008

The fall catalog for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Coastal Carolina University is now available.

OLLI offers area residents a wide variety of noncredit courses. More than 250 classes and workshops are planned for the fall term from Sept. 15 to Dec. 19 at five locations - Conway, North Myrtle Beach, Myrtle Beach, Litchfield and Georgetown.

Courses that are offered include art and photography, computer technology, foreign languages, history and government, literature and writing, music, theater and film, personal growth and skills, religion and philosophy, science and nature, and history and nature excursions.

During Free Week, Sept. 8 to 13, current and prospective Lifelong Learners will be treated to dozens of free lectures and demonstrations of upcoming courses and clubs. There will also be an opportunity to meet members of the faculty and staff, learn about accessing OLLI's Web site and online WebAdvisor, get assistance with registering for OLLI membership, classes and parking permits, and enjoy guided exploration of Kimbel Library's database and the Senior Services Directory.

The complete fall catalog, plus the detailed schedule for Free Week, is posted at or can be picked up at any of the outreach centers. Call 843-349-4030 or 843-4001 for directions or to have a copy mailed.
