Coastal Carolina University welcomes NASCAR to campus
This is an opportunity for NASCAR fans to get a behind the scenes look at NASCAR and the motorsports industry. A pre-party will begin at 1 p.m. outside the venue with live music, food, racecars, prizes and giveaways. A raffle will take place for tickets and pit passes for Darlington Raceway's Sprint Cup Race, The Southern 500. The public forum is free and open to the public.
Participating in the panel are: Marcus Jadotte, managing director of Diversity and Public Affairs; Dave Finley, director of Series Operations; Talia Mark, director of NASCAR Kinetics: Marketing in Motion; and JT Smith, coordinator of workforce planning.
Coastal Carolina University joins only five other universities selected to participate in the NASCAR Kinetics: Marketing in Motion program, which started in January 2009. They are: Winston-Salem State University, University of Notre Dame, Central Michigan University, Howard University and Clark Atlanta University. All six universities were chosen based on their marketing programs and the students' eagerness to gain real world practice and knowledge.
Five Coastal Carolina University students were recently selected for participation in the program. The students are: Kevin Crout, a junior from Baltimore, Md.; Paige Plyler, a senior from McKean, Penn.; Allen Brouwer, a senior from Toms River, N.J.; Charlie Decker, a junior from South Plainfield, N.J.; and Kendra Kolb, a senior from Portsmouth, R.I.
The winning university will receive the grand prize, an all-expense paid trip to South Beach Miami, Fla., during Ford Championship Weekend. Students will represent their university and community, while interacting with prominent NASCAR and Official Partner business professionals.
