Coastal Carolina University ranked in Forbes Americas Best Colleges list

August 13, 2010

For the second consecutive year, Coastal Carolina University is included in Americas Best Colleges, compiled by Forbes and the Center for College Affordability and Productivity (CCAP).

The report ranks CCU in the top 15 percent of the nations four-year undergraduate institutions.

Whether theyre in the top 10 or near the end of the list, all 610 schools in this ranking count among the best in the country, according to the Forbes report. We review just 9 percent of the 6,600 accredited postsecondary institutions in the U.S., so appearing on our list at all is an indication that a school meets a high standard.

The rankings are based on the quality of education provided, the experience of students and how much they achieve.

This is the third year that Forbes has ranked colleges and universities. The list is designed as a consumer guide for undergraduate students and considers criteria that students use to select a college, such as: (1) Do students enjoy their classes and overall academic experience??(2) Do graduates succeed in their occupations after college??(3) Do most students graduate in a timely fashion, typically four years?? The rankings also consider affordability and student financial debt.
