Dinner with Friends comes to Atlantic Stage

Atlantic Stage Theatre Company will present Dinner with Friends, a Pulitzer Prize-winning comedy-drama, on Thursday, Jan. 27 through Sunday, Feb. 13 at 7:30 p.m., with a 3 p.m. matinee Feb. 6 and Feb. 13. Performances will be held at Coastal Carolina Universitys Myrtle Beach Education Center at 79th Avenue North and U.S. 17 Bypass.

Written by Donald Margulies, Dinner with Friends follows the relationship ups and downs of two married couplesKaren and Gabe, Beth and Tomwho have been best friends for years. Viewed over the course of meals and vacations, flashbacks and late-night confessions, one marriage splits and leaves the other questioning the strength of their own seemingly happy relationship.

The production features David Russell, production manager of media services at CCU, as Gabe; Mendy Penn, theatre instructor at North Myrtle Beach High School, as Karen; Kristi McIntyre, lecturer of communication at CCU, as Beth; and Steve Earnest, associate professor of theatre, as Tom.
