Coastal to sponsor lecture on DNA replication
Bryant, former head of the Department of Biological Sciences at Exeter, is a member of the International Society for Plant Molecular Biology, the Biochemical Society and the Genetical Society. He was elected a Fellow of the Institute of Biology in 1985.
Bryant received a bachelor's degree in 1965 and a Ph.D. in 1969 from the University of Cambridge. Following a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of East Anglia, he was appointed to a lectureship at Nottingham University, where he first started his research on plant DNA replication. In addition to his research interests in DNA replication, Bryant also has an active research group working on plant stress responses.
