Renaissance Fair Day set for March 2
Following a Continental breakfast and registration from 8:30 to 9 a.m., participants attend one seminar in each of the three separate sessions - two morning sessions and an afternoon session concluding at 3 p.m. A buffet-style lunch is included. Seminars and workshops will be held in the E. Craig Wall Sr. College of Business Building.
Scheduled seminars, led by Coastal faculty and staff and area experts, include:
- Session A - The Bird and the Bees and Butterflies Too; Kinetic Golf; Yoga Basics; Professional Money Management; Swamp, Strand and Steamboat: Memories of Horry County; Women's Investing Workshop; The Mind-Body Connection; Computer Viruses; and Great Learning from Great Books.
- Session B - Mark Twain Tonight! Garrison Keillor Tomorrow?; Creative Journaling; Massage Therapy; Fishing the Carolina Coast; Managing Risk in Today's Environment; Why Did They Do That?; Habitat Restoration - A Solution to Coastal Wetland Loss?; The Many Faces of God: Does Religious Pluralism Undermine Faith?; and The Art of Quilting.
- Session C - Feng Shui - Techniques to Improve Every Corner of Your Home; Life in Renaissance Italy; You Too Can Draw; Perspectives on Islam; Issues in Elderlaw; Forest Fires and Their Effects on the Environment; Beautiful Arias from Wonderful Operas; The History of Conway; and Skin Cancer and Dermatology.
The event is sponsored by Coastal's Lifelong Learning Society, a learning-in-retirement program which offers more than 60 courses each semester.
