Bio:
From Louisville, Kentucky, Erin Rickard currently resides in Myrtle Beach,South Carolina. Prior to her appointment as Assistant Professor of Computer Science at CCU, she was a Lecturer and Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Louisville for five years. She has also worked as a Controls Engineer for Advanced Production Systems in Louisville. Dr. Rickard earned her Bachelor of Science and Master of Engineering degrees in Electrical Engineering and her Ph.D. in Computer Science Engineering from the University of Louisville. Her dissertation focused on the effectiveness of self-organizing maps in mammographic image analysis. Her research interests include image processing and analysis, pattern recognition, neural networks, and more recently, bioinformatics.
