ABOUT THE PGM PROGAM
The PGA Golf Management (PGM), a four-and-one-half year university curriculum for aspiring PGA Professionals, is a structured educational program accredited by the PGA of America. The PGA Golf Management Program provides students the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for success in the golf industry through extensive classroom studies, internship experiences and player development opportunities. The Coastal Carolina University PGM program was accredited by the PGA of America in 1999 and the first CCU PGM students graduated from the Program in 2002. CCU PGM graduates are filling professional, management and leadership roles in some of America’s top 100 golfing facilities. Additionally, they are employed in a wide variety of golf related positions including teaching and instruction, tournament operations, merchandising, marketing, golf administration, real estate development, coaching and education.
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina provides the ideal backdrop for our PGM students, and is home to over 100 golf courses. The variety of experiences available to golfers has come to define Myrtle Beach golf, and this perspective affords PGM students a tremendous opportunity to see a thriving golf industry from the inside.
