The Early Childhood Education program prepares candidates to meet the educational requirements for South Carolina certification in PK-Grade 3. It is expected that degree candidates will possess the necessary knowledge, skills, and dispositions required to be effective teachers. Caring, committed, and competent early childhood teachers are the key for ensuring positive outcomes for young children. Mission Statement - Early Childhood Education Guided by the Spadoni College of Education’s Conceptual Framework and Mission Statement, the Early Childhood Education Program is committed to providing high quality experiences for both pre-service and practicing teachers that lead to the development of the philosophical, theoretical, and experiential knowledge required of all early childhood educators. The programmatic goal is to develop early childhood educators who are able to effectively teach, serve, and act on behalf of the diverse needs and well-being of all young children.
