The Paul Rice Poetry Broadside Series
The Coastal Carolina English Department is pleased to announce the seventh contest in The Paul Rice Poetry Broadside Series *a competition open to currently enrolled Coastal Carolina students* Guidelines 1. Entrants must be currently enrolled at Coastal Carolina University. Previous winners of the contest are ineligible. 2. Submit one poem as a Word (.doc or .docx) or Rich Text Format (.rtf) document attached to an email to Dan Albergotti, Coordinator of Creative Writing (albergot@coastal.edu). Include the following in the text of the email message: your name, your email address, your telephone number, and the title of your poem. Your name should only appear in the text of the email message; do not include your name in the attached document with your poem. 3. Your poem must be 40 or fewer lines. Poems longer than 40 lines will be disqualified. There is no restriction concerning subject, style, or form. 4. Poems must be submitted by Wednesday, November 4, 2009. There is no entry fee. 5. The winning poem will be selected by an outside judge to be named later. The winner will be announced on or around Monday, November 30. 6. The winning poem will be published as a broadside in an edition of 100 copies. The winning poet will receive a $100.00 gift certificate to the Coastal Carolina Bookstore and 25 copies of the broadside. 7. The winning poem may also be featured in Archarios.
This series is named in honor and memory of Paul Rice, professor of English at Coastal Carolina from 1987 to 2004. Previous Winners of The Paul Rice Poetry Broadside Series
