The lead organization has received funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF AIRE grant) to begin a volunteer monitoring program on the Waccamaw River using local High School and college students. The project will apply for formal status as a SC Riverwatch Chapter. As part of the proposed project, the lead PI’s will engage the High School students in site visits and presentations regarding the impact of NPS pollution on the watershed.
