University Strategic Planning
The 2008-2013 Strategic Plan for Coastal Carolina University, entitled "Tradition, Integrity, Excellence: Building a Comprehensive University," has guided the University in charting its direction through the past eight years.
As part of the process of developing the plan with the involvement of students, faculty, staff, alumni, trustees, and community members, a revised mission statement for the University was created, adopted by Coastal Carolina University’s Board of Trustees on December 14, 2007, and received final approval by the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education on January 8, 2008. In addition, the steering committee established University priorities, and created a process to link strategic direction to budgeting and continual outcome-based assessment.
In 2013, a new University-wide committee – the Strategic Management Committee – was charged with assessing the progress of the past five years and developing a new Strategic Plan to guide the University through 2015 and beyond. The progress of the committee will be shared here. Related documents are available from the links on the left.
