ACADEMIC CLASSROOM/OFFICE BUILDING

This project will create an Academic office complex for Faculty/Staff and additional classroom space.

The proposed 48,562 square foot facility will provide approximately 109 Academic offices for faculty/staff, two 120 seat tiered classrooms, one 85 seat tiered classroom, six 25 seat classrooms and six 30 seat classrooms and approximately 1,700 square feet for Food Service.

This additional space will support the expanding growth of the student and faculty population.

Status of Project

December 06, 2012 - Faculty and staff begin move in.

December 04, 2012 - DHEC inspection scheduled.

November 19, 2012 - Irrigation and landscaping scheduled to be complete.

November 16, 2012 - Asphalt work scheduled to begin.

November 13, 2012 - Fire alarm testing scheduled.

November 08, 2012 - Elevator inspection scheduled.

November 05, 2012 - Area 1 plumbing 95% complete. Area 2 ceiling tile complete. Elevator work complete.

September 10, 2012 - Slate roofing complete. Electrical and plumbing rough-in 98% complete in both areas.

August 01, 2012 - Plumbing and electrical rough-ins 98% complete.

August 01, 2012 - Monumental stair installation complete.

July 09, 2012 - Area 1 and Area 2 plumbing and electrical rough-in is 98% complete.


July 09, 2012 - Brickwork on Area 1 scheduled to be complete on July 11, 2012.

Brickwork on Area 2 is 35% complete.

May 24, 2012 - Brickwork scheduled to begin.

May 21, 2012 - Interior stud installation is 95% complete on levels one and two and level three is 90% complete in Area #2.

April 10, 2012 - Area 2 truss erection and interior stud installation is scheduled to begin.

April 09, 2012 - Roof trusses are 90% complete on Area 1.

March 14, 2012 - Building 1 connector isolation piers are scheduled to be poured.

March 12, 2012 - Building 1 roof trusses scheduled to be on site and installation to follow.

March 09, 2012 - Level 1 exterior metal stud installation to begin.

February 27, 2012 - Metal stud pre-installation meeting scheduled.

February 20, 2012 - Structural steel for the connector portion of the building is 95% complete.

January 19, 2012 - Progress meeting scheduled.

January 10, 2012 - Precast coordination meeting with subcontractor, architect and structural engineer scheduled.

January 03, 2012 - All perimeter foundation CMU has been laid and grouted. All exterior backfill is complete.

December 21, 2011 - All footings complete.

November 28, 2011 - Pile installation is complete.

November 15, 2011 - First progress meeting held.

November 07, 2011 - Site demo complete and test pile successfully installed.

November 03, 2011 - Pre-installation meeting for auger cast piles.

November 01, 2011 - Site demolition begins.

October 31, 2011 - Construction begins.

October 24, 2011 - Pre-construction meeting scheduled.

October 10, 2011 - SE370 posted.

October 03, 2011 - SE-360 mailed to OSE for approval.

September 29, 2011 - Bid opening.

September 13, 2011 - Construction pre-bid.

September 01, 2011 - Project advertised in SCBO.

August 30, 2011 - OSE final review.

August 19, 2011 - Submitted responses to OSE comments.

August 01, 2011 - Received last comments from OSE.


July 25, 2011 - Received comments from OSE with the exception of electrical.

July 07, 2011 - Submitted plans and specs to OSE for final review.

June 30, 2011 - Submit plans and specs to OSE for approval.

June 24, 2011 - Reviewed plans and specs with PMH.

May 31, 2011 - Submitted plans and specifications to OSE for final review.

May 26, 2011 - Review plans and specifications with PMH.

April 25, 2011 - CD documents submitted to OSE for review.

March 07, 2011 - Met with Pike McFarland Hall Architects to discuss the cost estimate.

March 01, 2011 - Received comments back from OSE.

February 25, 2011 - Submitted CD documents to OSE for review.

December 14, 2010 - A-1 for Phase II Construction approved by the Budget and Control Board.

October 15, 2010 - A-1 submitted to Commission on Higher Education for Phase II construction approval.

May 04, 2010 - Architectural Selection Committee interviewed Architectural Design Teams from short list. Pike McFarland Hall Associates were selected for design services.

March 11, 2010 - Architectural Selection Committees meets to short list firms.

February 18, 2010 - Deadline for A&E resumes for Phase I design services.

January 28, 2010 - Advertisement for Phase I design in SCBO.

December 15, 2009 - A-1 for Phase I Design approved by Budget and Control Board.

December 02, 2009 - A-1 for Phase I Design approved by JBRC.

November 05, 2009 - A-1 for Phase I Design approved by CHE.

October 09, 2009 - A-1 submitted to Commission on Higher Education in the amount of $165,000 for Phase I Design.
