STUDENT CENTER ANNEX CONSTRUCTION

This project will create additional space for student life activities.

The proposed project includes the design and programming for two annexes, estimated at 50,000 square feet each, adjacent to the current student center. As the university has grown, smaller social spaces within area buildings have been renovated to meet other space needs. The two annex additions will accommodate the continued student growth and develop stronger student community on the campus.

Status of Project

January 07, 2013 - Architect working on final documents to submit to OSE.

December 10, 2012 - Received new revised estimate for project to review.

October 30, 2012 - Met with architects to finalize plan and specification corrections.

September 19, 2012 - Received OSE plan review comments.

September 07, 2012 - Plan documents sent to OSE for review and comments.

July 09, 2012 - Phoenix Environmental inspection report sent to architect.

June 20, 2012 - Informational Technology meeting held.

April 09, 2012 - Phase II proposal under review by Facilities staff.

March 30, 2012 - Phase II CD proposal received for evaluation by Facilities staff.

January 17, 2012 - Final version of Phase I documents and estimates received and submitted for approval.

January 10, 2012 - Final documents and estimates received for review.

January 09, 2012 - Presentation by Quackenbush Architects held to acquaint CCU executive staff with final design and master plan of annexes.

December 19, 2011 - Architect is finalizing estimates and completing Final Phase I design documents.

November 30, 2011 - Programming Committee meeting with architects.

November 16, 2011 - Sixth Programming Committee meeting with architects.

October 19, 2011 - Fifth Programming Committee meeting with architects.

September 28, 2011 - Fourth Programming Committee meeting with architects.

September 13, 2011 - Third Programming Committee meeting with architects.

August 25, 2011 - Second Programming Committee meeting with architects.

August 10, 2011 - Quackenbush and WTW Architects met with Facilities personnel.

August 09, 2011 - Met with Programming Committee and Quackenbush and WTW Architects for design of Student Center Annexes.

July 08, 2011 - Quakenbush Architects and Planners selected for A/E services.

July 05, 2011 - Held Design Team interviews.

June 15, 2011 - CCU Programming Committee selected.

June 07, 2011 - Selection Committee met to short list firms for interview.

May 18, 2011 - Resumes submitted to Selection Committee for review.

March 22, 2011 - A-1 for Phase I design approved by SC Budget and Control Board.

February 08, 2011 - A-1 for Phase I design for construction approved by SC Budget & Control Board.

Project has been carried over for thirty days. Next SC Budget & Control Board meeting scheduled for March 22, 2011.

December 03, 2010 - A-1 approved by Commission on Higher Education for Phase I design for construction.

November 09, 2010 - A-1 submitted to Commission on Higher Education in the amount of $360,000 for Phase I design for construction.
