The University is planning to construct an estimated 5,000 square feet Public Safety building to include approximately 15 offices, a dispatch/communication center, a training room and locker room.

January 22, 2013 - Window glass installed and brickwork 95% complete.
January 09, 2013 - Electrical, plumbing and one side wall drywall rough in complete. Mechanical and brickwork in progress.
November 14, 2012 - Exterior wall studs have been erected.
November 09, 2012 - Santee Cooper has completed underground electric service.
October 24, 2012 - Final repairs completed on backflow valve.
October 19, 2012 - Fire suppression water supply installed and hydrostatic test performed.
September 11, 2012 - Site meeting with general contractor and engineering.
September 10, 2012 - Hardwoods removed and replaced at Hackler Golf Course.
August 23, 2012 - Cleared area for Public Safety building footprint.
August 21, 2012 - Construction begins.
August 14, 2012 - Pre-construction meeting.
June 26, 2012 - Bid awarded to Hanco Construction.
June 12, 2012 - Pre-bid meeting held.
May 28, 2012 - Project advertised in SCBO.
April 11, 2012 - Submitted revised plans and specs for final review to OSE.
February 27, 2012 - SMHa to have final comments addressed and submitted to OSE for final review.
February 13, 2012 - Site drawing sent to SMHa for comments.
January 17, 2012 - SMHa working on corrections to plans and specs per OSE comments.
January 12, 2012 - Received review comments from PE of OSE.
November 21, 2011 - Mailed corrected set of specs to OSE for review.
November 01, 2011 - Plans and specs submitted to OSE for review and comment.
June 28, 2011 - Castles Engineering has plans and specs complete for review.
June 08, 2011 - AIA moving forward to complete plans and specs.
April 27, 2011 - Castles Engineering providing civil engineering services.
April 14, 2011 - Exterior elevations received from AIA for review.
March 14, 2011 - Four member Public Safety Team met with Facilities Project Managers, SMHa and DWG, Inc. to review building layout plans.
March 07, 2011 - Met with AIA, and Public Safety to discuss revised layout. AIA is moving forward on completing plans and specs.
February 25, 2011 - Revised floor plans forwarded for review and final comments.
December 14, 2010 - A-1 for Phase II Construction approved by the Budget and Control Board.
October 15, 2010 - A-1 submitted to Commission on Higher Education for Phase II Construction.
October 01, 2010 - Soil testing taking place for possible relocation of building site.
May 18, 2010 - Project placed on hold.
May 06, 2010 - A-1 approved by Commission on Higher Education for Phase II construction.
March 02, 2010 - Initial meeting with IDC architects Stubbs Muldrow Herin for Phase I design.
February 23, 2010 - A-1 for Phase I design approved by Budget and Control Board.
February 10, 2010 - A-1 for Phase I design approved by JBRC.
