Important Points to Remember
When Receiving VA Benefits
1. Initial application takes at least 60-90 days to complete.
2. Montgomery GI Bill - Chapter 30, Chapter 1606 students are required to verify their enrollment at the beginning of each month by one of the following processes:
a. Call toll-free 1-877-823-2378 or
b. Visit the WAVE website for Web Automated Verification of Enrollment
(https://www.gibill.va.gov/wave/default.cfm)
3. Each semester, complete the Request for Veteran Educational Benefits form available at www.coastal.edu/financialaid/forms.html prior tothe beginning of each semester/term.
4. Provide a copy of your class schedule to the VA official at the school prior to the beginning of each semester.
5. Immediately notify the VA official of any changes in enrollment (drop or add), or change of program/major.
