Coastal Carolina University is committed to the highest standards of academic excellence and recognizes outstanding freshmen and transfer students through its scholarship program. All full-time degree-seeking students who apply for admission to the University and are accepted by March 1, are automatically considered for the following merit scholarships:

• The President's Scholarship, Provost's Scholarship, and Coastal Scholars Award are awarded to entering first-time freshmen for academic excellence and achievement.
• TThe Visual & Performing Arts Award is awarded to entering first-time freshmen who are majoring in Art Studio, Dramatic Arts, Graphic Design, Music or Musical Theatre. Students who meet the academic requirements of the Visual & Performing Arts Award will be invited to submit a portfolio or audition for final recommendation of this award. Eligible recipients will be notified through an official offer letter.

Coastal Carolina University's scholarship recipients present high school grade point averages that range from 3.5 - 4.0, SAT scores (critical reading and math) that range from 1100-1600, and ACT composite scores that range from 24 - 36. Merit-based scholarships are renewable for a total of four years (eight semesters) provided specific renewal critiera is met each academic year.
