2014 Summer Financial Aid

Taking 2014 Summer Classes? - Important Financial Aid Information!

Students planning to attend summer school at Coastal Carolina University who are applying for financial aid must complete a Summer Financial Aid Application in addition to the 2013-2014 FAFSA.

The deadline to submit your 2014 Summer Financial Aid Application (for any summer term) is May 30, 2014.

For most students, summer aid consists of private student loans and/or Federal Parent/Graduate PLUS loans. If you are interested in these types of loans for summer studies, below are the steps you must take to ensure your loans will be processed in time for the upcoming summer semesters.

Direct Stafford Loan Borrowers:

Direct Grad PLUS Loan Borrowers:

Direct Parent PLUS Loan Borrowers:

Private/Alternative Loan Borrowers:

Only one Financial Aid Summer Application is needed per student. Changes to your summer class schedule could delay processing.

Please note that for financial aid purposes, all summer sessions are combined into one processing term. To be considered for financial aid, you must be enrolled at least half-time. Half-time enrollment is defined as six (6) hours spread over any or all summer sessions (May, Summer I and Summer II). Qualified students enrolled in less than six (6) credits may be eligible for private/alternative loans.

Federal Regulation Regarding Repeat Courses

A student is able to receive federal Title IV aid* for a previously passed course only one more time.

*Federal Title IV Aid consists of: Pell, SEOG, Stafford Loans, PLUS Loans, Perkins Loans, TEACH Grants and Federal Work Study.
The South Carolina Need Based Grant is not federal aid but follows all federal Title IV regulations.)
